Neuropsychology Group Intervention Programmes
In the near future, the Neuro-Network Centre will be launching group intervention programmes designed to improve everyday functioning and quality of life for individuals living with neurological difficulties. These programmes are based on scientific research and have already been shown to be effective in other countries. While new to South Africa, outcomes will be closely monitored for both research and quality improvement purposes.

Planned Group Programmes Include:
-
Managing Cognitive Fatigue
For individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) who experience mental exhaustion or difficulty concentrating.
-
Enhancing Memory Function
For people with acquired brain injuries (such as those resulting from traumatic brain injury or stroke).
-
Reducing Chronic Pain
For individuals living with long-term pain conditions, with a focus on reducing the emotional and cognitive burden of pain.
What to Expect:
- Evidence-Based Approach: Programmes are grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other proven cognitive therapies.
- Small Group Setting: Sessions will be held in-person with 6–8 participants, led by 1–2 trained therapists, including at least one registered neuropsychologist.
- Structured Sessions: Each programme will run over 6–8 weekly sessions, depending on the specific intervention.
