Dr Sharon Truter
Dr. Sharon Truter is a Neuropsychologist and Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), holding a doctorate in the field of Health Psychology. With over 25 years of experience as a practicing psychologist—and more than 20 of those dedicated to the field of neuropsychology—she brings both depth of knowledge and compassion to her work.
Dr Truter is the founder of Neuropsychology SA, a platform that provides valuable resources and support for psychologists interested in neuropsychology in South Africa. Through this initiative, she continues to foster growth and learning within the profession.
In addition to conducting neuropsychological assessments, Dr Truter is actively involved in training, supervision, and research—helping to advance the field and ensure culturally and linguistically sensitive practices across the country. She is a full member and past-president of the South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association (SACNA) and is on the executive committee of the Culture Special Interest Group of the International Neuropsychological Society (INS).
